Instead of six short sittings, plan two or three half-day or full-day sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, lock every price up front, and let healing happen at home between trips.

The batching principle

Large tattoos are session work by nature — skin needs weeks to heal between sittings no matter where you live. Distance doesn’t change the biology; it changes the packaging. The trick is to make each trip carry more of the project:

  • Local client plan: six 3-hour sessions, one every few weeks.
  • Traveling client plan: the same piece as two full-day sittings ($2,000 each) or three half-days ($1,200), spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

Why our schedule suits travelers

We’re open noon to midnight, every day of the week. For a trip-based project that solves the two classic problems:

  1. Arrival day isn’t wasted. Land or drive in by afternoon, and there’s still an honest session window the same day.
  2. No weekday-only trap. Weekend trips work — Saturday full-day session, Sunday recovery drive home. Over a third of our tattoo clients already visit from out of town, so this rhythm is normal here, not an exception.

A realistic trip template

Trip 0 — the consultation. Free, 30 minutes. Design direction, placement, and the exact price of each planned session. If you’re coming from far, tell us when you book and we’ll make the visit count; pairing it with a South Florida weekend is common. The deposit you eventually leave counts toward the tattoo.

Trip 1 — foundation session. Linework and structure. Usually the longest sitting; a full-day makes sense here. You leave with a written aftercare plan — read the guide before you travel so supplies are waiting at home.

Trips 2+ — build and finish. Shading, color, detail, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Between trips, healing questions are a text away: (561) 663-6834. If anything looks off, send a photo before you get in the car.

What to bring (and not bring) on session day

  • Bring: ID, a full night’s sleep, a real breakfast, loose clothing that exposes the area, water, and something to watch — full-day sittings are long.
  • Don’t bring: a sunburn (South Florida’s classic session-killer), alcohol from the night before, or a schedule that forces you to leave mid-session. Build slack into the trip.

How far apart should sessions be if I’m traveling?

Four to six weeks is the standard healing window between sittings on the same area — conveniently, that’s also a comfortable trip cadence. Your artist confirms the exact spacing based on how your skin heals after the first session.

Is a full-day session safe for a first big tattoo?

Full-day sittings are normal for large projects, but tolerance is personal. That’s part of what the free consultation is for: if a full day is too much, the plan shifts to half-days ($1,200) — the project map just gets one more trip.

Can I do the consultation remotely?

The free 30-minute consultation is best in person — placement and skin are physical realities. If the drive is long, contact the studio first; we’ll make sure your visit is efficient and can often handle references and rough scoping by text ahead of time.
